- Cover a heat-resistant plate with plastic wrap.
- Crack one egg onto the plastic wrap.
- Add a pinch of salt and a pinch of sugar to the egg.
- Mix the egg, salt, and sugar on the plastic wrap.
- Microwave at 600W for 1 minute and 30 seconds.

- Drain the hot water from the mug cup.
- Serve the soft-boiled egg.
- Place 5 eggs into a rice cooker pot.
- Pour hot water over the eggs until they are completely submerged.
- Close the rice cooker lid and set it to "keep warm" for 17 minutes.
- Remove the eggs and serve the soft-boiled eggs.
- If eggshell pieces fall into a cracked egg, wet a chopstick.
- Use the wet chopstick to easily pick up the eggshell pieces.
- Pour beaten eggs (approximately 3-4 eggs worth) into a measuring cup.
- Add a splash of carbonated water to the beaten eggs.
- Pour a portion of the egg mixture into a heated rectangular omelet pan.
- Cook and roll the omelet as usual.
- Place 5 eggs in a pan with just enough water to cover the bottom.
- Cover the pan with aluminum foil.
- Turn on the heat and cook for 4 minutes.
- Turn off the heat and let the eggs sit in the covered pan for 3 minutes.
- Transfer the cooked eggs to a bowl of ice water to cool.
- Peel the shells from the cooled eggs.
- Place a handful of salted kombu in a container.
- Carefully place 3 egg yolks on top of the kombu.
- Cover the egg yolks with another handful of salted kombu.
- Drizzle soy sauce over the kombu and egg yolks.
- Cover and refrigerate overnight.
- Serve the marinated egg yolks with rice.
Tips
- When peeling frozen eggs, wetting them with water makes the shell easier to remove.
- To easily remove eggshell pieces from a cracked egg, use a wet chopstick.
- Adding carbonated water to eggs for Dashimaki Tamago makes them fluffy.
- Boiling eggs with minimal water in a covered pan can save gas.
- Storing eggs at the bottom of the refrigerator can prevent them from cracking due to the weight of items placed on top.
