  • Oyster sauce1 tablespoon

  • Honey2 tablespoons
  • Black pepper0.5 teaspoon
  • Cooking oil4 tablespoons
  • Prepared shrimp10-12 shrimp
  • Minced garlic1 tablespoon
  • Sake2 tablespoons
  • Udon noodles2 packs
  • Crushed peanutsas needed

Directions

  1. Julienne the cabbage.
  2. Julienne half a medium onion.
  3. Finely chop a medium green onion.
  4. Combine 3 tablespoons dark soy sauce, 1 tablespoon oyster sauce, 2 tablespoons Sriracha sauce, 2 tablespoons honey, and 0.5 teaspoon black pepper. Mix well to make the sauce.
  5. Add the udon noodles to boiling water and loosen them by shaking.
  6. Once the noodles are loosened, drain immediately and set aside.
  7. Heat 2 tablespoons cooking oil in a pan, then add the prepared shrimp, 1 tablespoon minced garlic, and 2 tablespoons sake. Cook over low heat until done.
  8. Once the shrimp are fully cooked, remove them from the pan and set aside.
  9. Turn the heat back on, add 2 tablespoons cooking oil, then add the chopped green onion and stir-fry until softened.
  10. Add the cabbage and onion, and stir-fry until the vegetables begin to soften.
  11. Add the udon noodles and cooked shrimp, then pour the prepared sauce around the edges of the pan.
  12. Stir-fry until all ingredients are well combined.
  13. Add the crushed peanuts and mix.
  14. Serve the finished stir-fried udon on a plate, garnished with chives and crushed peanuts.

Tips

  • Udon noodles are pre-cooked, so drain them immediately once they are loosened.
  • All ingredients are already cooked, so simply stir-fry until they are well combined with the sauce.
